SermonManager for MODx now available
We are pleased to announce that clients using the MODx Content Management System can now benefit from a fantastic MP3 sermon manager module! If you want to make your sermons available on your web site as MP3s, this is an easy way to keep track of them all and present them on your web site with a built-in search function.
Here at C9 we have several CMSs that we use on a regular basis, each good for a different purpose, giving us plenty of options when a client comes to us with a list of requirements. One of our favourites is MODx, chosen for its ease of use for non-technical people while at the same time providing all the power and flexibility required for us to make exactly the web site you need. However, one of its main failings up until now has been the absence of a really good MP3 management tool, so when churches say they want to put their sermons online as MP3s we tend to recommend other systems, which may not tick all the other boxes quite as well.
So, to remedy this situation, we've created our own SermonManager module for MODx, allowing users to upload files and give plenty of information about the sermon (like who was preaching, what the Bible reference was, etc.). All that is taken care of in the MODx back-end, away from prying eyes. Then there's a snippet that goes with it that shows all the sermons on a page, and gives a two-tier search function - a quick search (type in a word and hit the search button) and a full search (allowing more accurate and precise searching).
We still have some testing to do, and we'd like to get some beta-testers on board to give us feedback for further development, but it's an exciting step for us in being able to offer an even better all-round solution to our clients. Contact us for more information on SermonManager.
