How to make your site cheaper

Our prices are deliberately low to cater specifically for churches, but there are ways you can further reduce the cost:

Provide your own design: if you do the initial design yourself, or get a design company to do one for you, we will just do the coding for the template, which may save you money.
Write the content yourself: if you're good with words you can write them yourself.
Maintain the site yourself: we often use Content Management Systems for the sites we design, so if you have a web-savvy person to hand you can have them put all the content in for you and keep the site up to date, meaning you don't have to pay us to do it for you.
Do it in stages: rather than trying to create everything in one go, it might be easier to divide it into stages, adding on further functionality (such as forums and blogs) once the site is live.

Other things to consider

Photographs: Do you have photos of your church already? If not, we can come to you and take photos professionally for you. There is a charge involved, but if you don't have access to a good photographer then it might be worth considering. Importantly, pictures of people are far more effective than just the outside of your building.

Logos: Do you have an established logo and/or accompanying artwork that you use elsewhere? If not, we can design you a complete corporate identity for use on your web site, and we'll then provide you with all the artwork so you can use it on letterheads, noticesheets, church magazines, email stationary, etc.

Web hosting: Your site needs to be stored somewhere. If you haven't already got hosting sorted, you may be interested in our range of hosting packages (which also qualify for the 20% discount). We have something for every size web site, all at affordable prices.

How much does a web site cost?

Well, that depends entirely on what you want in your web site! But here is the key bit of information you're probably looking for:

£28 per hour

Yes, that's a 20% discount for churches and Christian organisations (compared to the commercial rate used for our other clients). To qualify you must be an active church of a mainstream denomination (in adherence to the Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith) or an organisation that is overtly Christian in its work. Yes, but how much will it actually cost in total?

The best way to give you an idea of how much your site will cost is to give you some examples.

A small web site: ~£200

£200 is about the least we can do a web site for and still keep it looking good. That covers the design of a template for your site, the setup of the site and its pages, and helping you put the content in the right place. The site won't do much functionally, so this is what you'd expect for a static web site (i.e. the information won't change very often) with maybe 5 pages.

A medium-sized web site: ~£400

If you want to do more with your web site, without going overboard, this about what you'd need to think about spending. This will get you a good Content Management System (CMS), allowing for easier updates to the information, unlimited pages, and additional functionality such as online forms, image galleries, and you'll get a really nice template too.

A large web site: £800

For large churches, or web sites with a lot of functionality and interactivity, £800 will probably get you there. You might get a CMS, image galleries, plenty of content (which we can help you write or refine), downloads, forum, blog, online forms... £800 will get you a lot!

A massive interactive web site with all the bells and whistles: £???

If you have a bigger budget and really want to splash out, the world is your oyster! You tell us what you want, and we'll do our best to make it happen. Password protected areas, interactive maps, online event registrations, something using a big database of information... If you can imagine it, we can probably make it!
