Who we are
ChapterNine web design - the new MatthewDawkins.co.uk
ChapterNine has only recently started trading under that name, but we have actually been creating web sites for churches professionally for years. In fact, ChapterNine is just a trading name for Matthew Dawkins Web Design, a web design company that has always specialised in making web sites for churches. The business has split itself in two to better cater for our target audiences - ChapterNine now deals with churches, and Matthew Dawkins Web Design deals with commercial clients. Same business, same people, same quality, different name.
Tools of the trade
We are primarily a Mac-centred outfit, using Apple's Mac OS X operating system. We use the superb Adobe Creative Suite 3 for our design work (Illustrator and Photoshop) and coding (Dreamweaver). We can open documents of almost any variety thanks to MS Office, NeoOffice and iWork. And when it comes to testing web sites we have a plethora of web browsers at our disposal: Firefox, Safari, Opera, Flock, even some experimental browsers you might not have heard of. Skype also provides our telephone service.
We also have PCs at our disposal for testing on Windows Vista and XP, enabling us to test web sites in Internet Explorer. And we don't just test in the most recent version either, we have pretty much all of them - IE5.5, IE6, IE7 and IE8. We've got Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari too. And then there's Ubuntu Linux, allowing us to test in yet more browsers. So we've got pretty much everything covered!
"Hi, I'm Matthew, and I run the business. I've been doing web design professionally for several years now, and I'm pleased to report that I'm still enjoying it! Having a passion for your job is a luxury I know I'm privileged to have, which is why I make the most of it, making web sites that are the best they can be, and offering discounts to others in the family of Christ.
